Memorizing Scripture

One of my New Years Resolutions is to memorize more scripture this year.  I want to put the Word of God in my heart, so no matter what I do, who I talk to, or what decision I personally have to make or help someone else make, the WORD of the Lord will be the first thing that pops into my mind.  So, here I go....  The first verse I want to learn is Psalm 84:11 - For the Lord God is a sun and shield:  the Lord will give grace and glory:  no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.  If you want to memorize it to, come on.  Let me know, and we'll be verse buddies.

  2. Dear Serenity, Thank you for your comment and support. You are my first verse buddy!! That is so much fun!! Let's work on this first verse a few days, and see how it goes. When you feel like it is in your heart automatically, let me know. Also, let me know if you find an opportunity to share it with someone who needs encouragement.

  3. Here is the verse I want to learn next - I found it on a blog I was reading yesterday. You may have read it too. The verse is Deuteronomy 31:8 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." This verse struck me as a good one to start the new year. Let me know if you learn it with me.

  4. I am working on Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

  5. Here is my verse for this week: Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
