Another Joyful Winter Day, with a Sad Ending!

As most people know, Texas has huge weather changes, and sure enough it went from 75 degrees last weekend to 20 degrees three days later.  We were blanketed by snow and ice last week.  I have just become a CNNiReporter, and one of their assignments was to send them pictures of our winter weather.  So I went out last Friday to take pictures of the beautiful snow to send to them.

As you can see, I had a nice photo morning until.......

I set up my tripod in the snow, and it began to fall...  I lunged for it, and my boot stayed put, but I went forward, so I sprained my knee and foot, and fell to the ground, camera in the snow, as was I.

Now I am in bed, foot up on pillows, unable to walk for awhile it seems.  Yes, that was a sad ending to my photo shoot, but I know God has a plan for my life, and I am looking to Him, to see what I might learn about being more like Him, loving more like Him and to praising Him in all things!

I hope some people reading this will have some comments about how you trusted and praised God through your "sad" times, too.

  1. It is a trial not to be able to walk. I have been blessed I've never had crutches. When you can't walk you probably will appreciate when your ankle gets better and you can. I was in my writers group yesterday and a person read a story about his son loosing his legs in Iraq. His book will be about how this event effected different members of his family. He said his son Jack is an amazing person and has overcome the problems with not having legs and has a joyful attitude. So maybe the lesson with trials in life is to continue to be grateful to God for life and his precious Son Jesus who loved us enough to die on the cross for our sins. His love in always there for us.

  2. Thank you, Sandra, for sharing about the young man who lost his legs. I want to embrace my "small" trial with a praising and grateful heart to God. Yes, His love is here for me. I am so glad you called today and prayed for me. My foot is feeling better ever since. God uses His body to minister! Thank you for being part of His body to me.
